Technology behind

Tenson is a Swedish outdoor brand within New Wave Group with roots dating back to 1951. Known for functional skiwear and outdoor clothing, Tenson had ambitions to grow their direct-to-consumer e-commerce, but the existing platform was holding them back.

Challenge

Tenson's e-commerce ran on an aging Umbraco installation that was difficult to maintain and develop further. At the same time, the company was in the middle of a broader transformation, switching ERP, warehouse system and PIM in parallel.

The challenge was to build a completely new e-commerce platform in just three months, while coordinating with the ongoing system changes happening around it, and deliver a foundation that Tenson could grow on for years to come.

Our role

We took full ownership, from strategy and design to development and launch. We designed an entirely new e-commerce experience in Figma and built it on a modern composable stack with Storyblok, Centra, Depict and Next.js.

The collaboration continues. We're currently extending the platform with Ingrid for delivery management and Kustom (Klarna's new checkout) to further strengthen the buying experience.

Three months to launch

Despite the tight timeline and the parallel system changes, we delivered a fully functional e-commerce platform in three months. The key was a clear technical strategy from day one and close collaboration with Tenson's team throughout the process.

The new platform gives Tenson full control over their digital presence, with a modern stack that makes it easy to add new markets, integrations and functionality as the business grows. No platform lock-in, no unnecessary dependencies.
